Biography:
Betty Jo serves as editor/lead critic for ReelTalk Movie Reviews and writes film commentary for the Colorado Senior Beacon. She also hosts "Movie Addict Headquarters" on BlogTalkRadio, and is the award-winning author of the following books: CONFESSIONS OF A MOVIE ADDICT; CINEMA STANZAS: RHYMING ABOUT MOVIES; CINEMA STANZAS TWO: POET LAUREATE OF THE MOVIES; and SUSAN SARANDON: A TRUE MAVERICK.
Under the pen names of Harry and Elizabeth Lawrence, Betty Jo and her husband co-wrote IT HAD TO BE US, a romantic memoir that earned first place in the E-book category at the 2006 Hollywood Book Festival and is now adapted for the screen as an award-winning short film titled CAKE: A LOVE STORY.
While serving as Dean of Humanities at San Diego Mesa College, Betty Jo supervised expansion of the film studies curriculum, designed an “Exploring Human Values through Film” course, coordinated the “Reel To Real Film Forum” program, and performed with the Mesa Musical Comedy Touring Troupe.
Betty Jo belongs to the Online Film Critics Society and is a founding member of the San Diego Film Critics’ Society.
