'A Christmas Story' Anniversary
by
On December 17, Movie Addict Headquarters celebrates the 30th Anniversary of A Christmas Story by revisiting interviews with Zack Ward and Julie Matthews, two original cast members of this hilarious family comedy. Zack and Julie share their reactions about being involved in the great holiday classic. Mad Movie Man A.J. Hakari also joins in the fun.
Back in 1983, Zack Ward portrayed Scut Farkus -- the ferocious red-haired bully -- in A Christmas Story. Since then, he has appeared in over numerous movies and TV shows. Among Zack’s films are Transformers, Almost Famous and Resident Evil: Apocalypse. His television credits include work on such series as Deadwood, Dollhouse, Crossing Jordan, Cold Case, CSI, NCIS and Titus.
Julie Matthews, one of the carolers in A Christmas Story, also helped with the film’s casting. During the past 20 years, she has achieved success as a character actress, vocalist and model. Her impressive show biz background includes work as an agent, casting director, talent scout, producer, TV director, acting coach, publicist and writer. In addition to A Christmas Story, Julie has appeared on-screen in such movies as Major League and Bob Roberts. She is also co-founder and director of the American Performing Arts Network.
The Mad Movie Man (aka A.J. Hakari), a frequent guest on Movie Addict Headquarters, writes film reviews for various sites including ReelTalk Movie Reviews, Classic Movie Guide, Review Express -- and for his own popular blog, Cineslice. Although A.J. is a tough critic, he admits, “A Christmas Story is my all-time favorite!”
“A Christmas Story Anniversary” airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
