Mary Poppins Anniversary Party
by
Come celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Mary Poppins with the Movie Addict HQ gang on Tuesday, November 19! Joining in the fun are noted film critics Nell Minow, A.J. Hakari and Richard Jack Smith. This Oscar-winning family movie about a practically perfect nanny and the family she saves boasts an amusing story, delightful songs and whimsical characters led by Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. A preview of Saving Mr. Banks, an upcoming film starring Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as the Mary Poppins author, will also be included in the festivities, and Victoria Summer, who plays Julie Andrews in that eagerly-awaited movie, has been invited to call in. Be prepared for a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious event!
All three guest critics are eminently qualified to make this a joyful party. Nell, the famous Movie Mom, writes commentary for Beliefnet.com and is the author of The Movie Mom’s Guide to Family Entertainment plus many other film-related books. A.J., aka the Mad Movie Man, contributes film reviews to sites like Classic Movie Guide, Review Express, ReelTalk Movie Reviews and his own popular blog Cineslice. Richard lives in Wales and writes film reviews for ReelTalk Movie Reviews. He’s also the author of Incidental Gold.
Although actress Victoria Summer has already appeared in the following films: The Zombie Diaries, How Sweet It Is and Dracula Returns, her role as Julie Andrews in Saving Mr. Banks just might be her ticket to stardom. Victoria’s other upcoming movies are Higher Mission and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
