Seeing Stars
by
On the July 16th Movie Addict Headquarters show, I get roasted by film critics and comedians! The roasters? Warren Epstein, Nancy Lombardo, Diana Saenger, James Colt Harrison and A.J. Hakari. A book giveaway will also be included, and I plan to read a few "Seeing Stars" excerpts -- with the help of actress/artist Judy Joy Jones -- from Confessions of a Movie Addict, my amusing life-at-the-movies memoir which earned a First Place win in the 2012 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards contest. (My author's royalties for this book are donated to The Film Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Martin Scorsese to help with film preservation.)
Warren Epstein, a stand-up comic who now serves as Arts & Culture Editor for the Colorado Springs Gazette, and comedian Nancy Lombardo, host of the hilarious Comedy Concepts show on BlogTalkRadio, represent the world of comedy in this episode. Movie critics sharing their reactions are film historian James Colt Harrison, entertainment journalist Diana Saenger, and horror expert A.J. Hakari.
Confessions of a Movie Addict chronicles my love affair with the cinema, one that’s lasted over half a century. Beginning with a 6-year-old’s fright and fascination while watching Boris Karloff in Frankenstein, I describe personal movie-related anecdotes and take readers behind the scenes of the entertainment industry, sharing my favorite celebrity interviews and revealing a number of hilarious encounters with movie stars and filmmakers. Critic James Colt Harrison says, “If Oscars were given out for the funniest book of the year, CONFESSIONS OF A MOVIE ADDICT would win hands down.”
“Seeing Stars” airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.
