Dracula Meets Frankenstein
by
Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, filmdom’s foremost horror duo, return from the beyond to discuss horror flicks in this surreal Movie Addict HQ episode scheduled for October 16. Joining in the spooky fun are George and Lizette Bettinger from the Mom & Pop Shop Radio Show. Horror expert A.J. Hakari, the Mad Movie Man, is also expected to call in.
Through the magic of imagination and technology, Lugosi and Karloff have agreed to help listeners get in the mood for Halloween by discussing the horror genre with the Bettingers. George (Mr. Show Biz) is a man of many voices, and Lizette adds her impressive voice talent to their popular show. Among topics to be covered are:
Who is the scariest horror creature on film?
What is the most frightening movie ever made?
What is the funniest horror movie?
Lugosi is best known for his creepy performance as Dracula in the 1931 film of the same name, and Karloff for his scary monster in Frankenstein -- also released in 1931. While working together in eight films, they became friends. In his book about Lugosi and Karloff, author Gregory William Mank calls their relationship “A Haunting Collaboration.” Here are the movies the two actors appeared in with each other: The Black Cat, Son of Frankenstein, The Raven, The Invisible Ray, You’ll Find Out, Gift of Gab, The Body Snatcher, Black Friday.
“Dracula Meets Frankenstein” airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.
