Barry Bostwick Returns
by
Award-winning actor Barry Bostwick visits Movie Addict Headquarters on September 25 for a discussion about starring in FDR: American Badass, a slapstick comedy scheduled for DVD release on that same day. Bostwick may be best-known as the clueless mayor on Spin City or as Susan Sarandon’s naďve boyfriend in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. However, he’s a triple-threat entertainer -- singer, dancer, actor -- who created the role of Danny Zuko in Grease on Broadway, won a Tony for his work in The Robber Bridegroom and a Golden Globe for his performance in War and Remembrance.
In FDR: American Badass, Bostwick portrays the 32nd U.S. President as a werewolf killer who rides around in a “wheelchair of death” while stopping werewolves carrying the polio virus. According to movie fans who’ve already seen this film, Bostwick is absolutely hilarious!
Among Bostwick’s other numerous films are: Movie Movie; Hannah Montana: The Movie; Nancy Drew; Megaforce; 101 Dalmatians II; Spy Hard; Evening, and Swing. He has the following upcoming films completed or in post-production: Finding Joy; The Selling; Home Run Showdown; and Some Guy Who Kills People.
Bostwick has appeared in such TV programs as Cougar Town, Glee, Scrubs, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, Las Vegas, and the mini-series George Washington (playing the title character). He’s also been a frequent host of PBS’s A Capitol Fourth.
In 2004, Bostwick -- a prostate cancer survivor -- was awarded the Gilda Radner Courage Award from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
During the second part of the show, Emmy-nominated Christopher Scott will drop by for a rescheduled interview. Scott is a dancer, actor, and resident choreographer for “So You Think You Can Dance.” He generated the amusing moves for Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks and has appeared in such films as Step Up to the Streets as well as Step Up Revolution. In addition, this talented artist put together a dance piece for the 82nd Academy Awards televised ceremony and founded The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers (LXD), a web series he refers to as a “Justice League of Dance.” Among the celebrities utilizing Scott’s innovative choreography are Brittany Spears, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
