During an episode scheduled for February 28, Movie Addict Headquarters presents a discussion about the best and worst moments at the 84th Academy Awards and from earlier years. Panelists include: Barry Monush, author of Screen World 2010; film historian James Colt Harrison; Mad Movie Man A.J. Hakari; and film critic Diana Saenger from Classic Movie Guide.
Panelists for this discussion are eminently qualified to talk about the Oscars. Monush, a researcher at the Paley Center for the Media, has written several other film-related books including The Encyclopedia of Hollywood Film Actors, Everybody’s Talkin’- The Top Films of 1965-1969 and Music on Film: West Side Story. He also updated Stanley Green’s Hollywood Musicals: Year by Year. Hakari, the Mad Movie Man, has contributed film commentary to several outlets including ReelTalk Movie Reviews, Terror Tube and Review Express. He is currently putting his finishing touches on a book about the horror genre. Harrison, who has contributed movie reviews to the La Jolla Village News plus other outlets, has also done research for a history of the early Hollywood studios, and Saenger is the entertainment editor for San Diego’s East County Gazette as well as author of Everyone Wants My Job: The ABC’s of Entertainment Writing.
