Ziah Colón and “Footloose”
by
Ziah Colón, one of the stars of Footloose, joins Movie Addict Headquarters on September 27 to talk about her work in the highly-anticipated revamp of that 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon. Ziah plays “Rusty,” the role portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker in the original movie.
Ziah, who was born in Puerto Rico, grew up performing for family and friends and as she discovered her passion for the craft, she began working at a local acting school where she eventually taught her own classes and performed regularly in local plays. Although excited to pursue the next steps of her career, Ziah dropped everything (including the opportunity to move to L.A. to pursue acting) when her sister was suddenly stricken with breast cancer. Instead, she stayed home to care for her sister and her children. A few years later, her sister recovered and Ziah returned to acting, quickly landing small roles on Lifetime’s Army Wives and Drop Dead, Diva. Soon enough, she landed her role of a lifetime, “Rusty.”
Ziah Colón’s interview airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, September 27. During the live broadcast, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.
