Brendan Wayne: 'Cowboys & Aliens'
by
Actor Brendan Wayne, grandson of the legendary actor John Wayne, visits Movie Addict Headquarters on June 14th to talk about his upcoming film, Cowboys & Aliens, as well as how his grandfather influenced his acting career. Brendan’s film and television career includes roles in such movies as Couples Retreat, Fast and Furious, Angel and the Bad Man, CSI, and The Closer.
In Cowboys & Aliens, Brendan plays Deputy Lyle, a town leader and central figure of the posse in charge of fighting aliens. He performs his own stunts in this highly anticipated western sci-fi movie that also stars Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell. Based on the buzz around Brendan’s character, he seems poised to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and become a legend of his own.
Brendan grew up riding horses, attending rodeos and visiting his grandfather on film sets. It was watching John Wayne in his iconic roles that motivated him to study film at the University of Southern California.
When not filming, Brendan is actively involved in the John Wayne Cancer Society, a non-profit organization. He also enjoys coaching his three children’s soccer team, boxing, playing basketball and riding his two horses named “Out of Money” and “Deuces.”
