Patrick Fabian Visits Movie Addict HQ
by Betty Jo Tucker

Patrick Fabian, the star of CMT’s first scripted comedy Working Class, drops by Movie Addict Headquarters on February 8th to talk about this new project and his award-winning role in The Last Exorcism as well as other highlights from his acting career. Patrick’s credits include over 73 television shows, multiple film credits and many stage roles. Recently he received critical recognition for playing Ted Price on seasons three/four of HBO’s Big Love.

In Working Class, Patrick stars opposite Ed Asner and Melissa Peterman. He plays the polished and gorgeous Rob Parker, Carli’s (Peterman) Ivy League boss who finds his straight-laced world up-ended by her unconventional outlook and offbeat charms. While choosing to stay/work in the family grocery business, he develops an underlying desire and attraction to Carli.

Patrick recently starred in The Last Exorcism which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. The film made #1 at the Box Office earning over $24 million opening weekend. In his highest-profile performance to date, Patrick portrayed the lead, Reverend Cotton Marcus (the film was originally titled COTTON), which earned him Best Actor in both the Toronto After Dark and Sitges 43rd International Film Festivals.

No wonder Patrick received so much acclaim for this role. He drew me in with his splendid portrayal of an evangelical minister dedicated to showing the trickery that can be used in exorcism rituals -- even to the point of inviting a camera crew along to film one of these events. Fabian’s “Cotton” comes across as a spellbinding combination of con man and do-gooder. Recognizing how much manipulation he has used for many years in his religious sermons and services, Cotton is ashamed of it now and wants to prevent any children from being harmed while undergoing an exorcism. Fabian is totally believable -- and sometimes quite amusing -- in this key role.

Patrick Fabian’s interview airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, February 8. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available, and the show will be rebroadcast by WRSP936.COM on Friday, February 11, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
