Vegan Zombies!
by
Filmmaker Jim Townsend and actress H. Lynn Smith help Movie Addict Headquarters celebrate Horror Film Month on Tuesday, October 12. Jim wrote, directed, produced and stars in Attack of the Vegan Zombies!, and Lynn portrays a modern witch who causes a winery crop to go horribly awry in this indie horror gem.
Jim’s other film credits include such movies as Entropy, Season of Youth, and New World Order. He began his first work in film through an internship at The Shooting Gallery. Jim also worked in local news at Fox and in both local and network news at CBS in New York City. Lynn has appeared in various TV productions, including the acclaimed John Adams miniseries from HBO.
I’m pleased that vegetarians finally get some horror respect in Jim’s Attack of the Vegan Zombies! Here’s how the filmmaker describes his horror offering:
Joe and his wife Dionne have had yet another bad crop for their winery. Faced with the prospect of losing the family farm, Dionne convinces her mother (a witch) to cast a spell upon next year's crop. The crop is such a success that Joe hires some college students to help them harvest. However, when a nosy neighbor begins poking around in the fields, he finds out more than he bargained for. Now the question isn't how to best harvest the crop, it's how to keep from being harvested.
Zombies, witches and wine. Oh my!
