'Movie Mom' & Guilty Pleasure Films
by
Nell Minow, the famous Movie Mom, returns to Movie Addict Headquarters on May 18th to discuss “guilty pleasure” films. Although known primarily for her advice to parents about entertainment suitable for children, Minow plans to focus on a very different area during this upcoming BlogTalkRadio show.
Writing as “The Movie Mom,” Minow has been featured in The Chicago Sun-Times, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune, Parents, Family Fun and other publications. She has been profiled by The New York Times, The Economist, Forbes, The Chicago Tribune and Ladies Home Journal. Her book, The Movie Mom’s Guide to Family Movies, has helped parents everywhere select safe and fun entertainment for their children. On the Beliefnet channel, Minow provides reviews, quizzes, tips and advice about which movies, DVDs, television programs and Internet sites are most appropriate for children of varying ages.
How does Minow define a guilty pleasure film, and is there any genre that lends itself more readily to guilty pleasure viewing? What are her guilty pleasure films in the following categories: romance movies, comedies, action movies, musicals, horror flicks and family films?
The Movie Mom will answer those questions and more on her return visit to Movie Addict Headquarters. It should be a fun and revealing discussion!
Every movie fan has his/her own favorite guilty pleasure films. (Two of my faves are Original Sin with Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie and Cabin Boy with Chris Elliott.) Will any of yours be on Minow’s list?
During this live show, which airs Tuesday, May 18, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time), listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.
