Movie Addict Headquarters presents its third Nostalgia Month offering on Tuesday, April 20. This promises to be a great show, folks! Guest Joan Benedict Steiger reminisces about her late husband, acclaimed actor Rod Steiger, and discusses her own extensive acting experience in movies, stage and television productions. Film critics James Colt Harrison and Diana Saenger also drop by for a report on Robert Osborne’s 2010 Classic Film Festival.
Joan Benedict Steiger has appeared in such movies as A Month of Sundays, The Flying Dutchman, The Prize Fighter, and The Theory of Everything. Her TV credits include such diverse shows as Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Steve Allen Show, Candid Camera and Dollhouse. Joan is also passionate about the stage and has starred in off-Broadway plays and regional theatre. She played “Queen of Mean” Leona Helmsley in a one-woman show that received rave reviews. James Colt Harrison, the premier film critic for the La Jolla Village News, has written a complete history of the early Hollywood studios and is currently working on a book about the subject. Diana Saenger, the founder and editor of Classic Movie Guide, is also the entertainment editor for San Diego’s East County Gazette. Both James and Diana recently attended Robert Osborne’s 2010 Classic Film Festival and are eager to share their reactions about that important movie event.
