Two-time Emmy nominated Tonya Lee Williams talks about her acting experience in films, television and live theater during an upcoming interview for Movie Addict Headquarters. Known primarily for her continuing role as Dr. Olivia Winters on Young and the Restless, Tonya has also appeared in a variety of films including Seventeen Again, Poor Boy’s Game, The Borrower, and Spaced Invaders. Her other television work includes roles in series like Matlock, Falcon’s Crest, Generations and Silk Stalkings.
Tonya’s newest acting adventure involves playing a senior U.S. Department of Homeland Security agent on The Border, a powerful Canadian series about elite Canadian immigration and customs officers working with U.S. authorities.
Among Tonya’s many honors are two NAACP Image Awards, Howard University’s Legacy of Leadership Award, the prestigious Harry Jerome Award, the ACTRA Award of Excellence (the highest achievement award for an actor in Canada), and the African Canadian Achievement Award.
Tonya is also Founder and Executive Director of ReelWorld Film Festival, a Canadian Non-Profit Film Festival dedicated to promoting cultural diversity in front of and behind the camera.
