Mini Review: July 10
by John P. McCarthy

Below is a Mini Review from Cineman Synicate for one movie opening on July 10, 2009.

BRUNO. Measured by the number of laughs and gasps he generates, Sacha Baron Cohen earns gold stars for his Borat follow-up, a mock doc about a gay fashionista seeking to become "the biggest Austrian superstar since Hitler." Along the way, Bruno attempts to bring peace to the Middle East and adopts an African baby. Steer clear if Borat wasn't your cup of tea. Although it's a tighter flick that wickedly skewers homophobia and celebrity culture, ribald doesn't come close to describing what transpires. Putting his hairless self in harm's way, Baron Cohen sets the bar for guerilla comedy as high and as low as it can go. (R) GREAT COMEDY.

Director - Larry Charles

Lead - Sacha Baron Cohen

Running Time - 88 minutes
