James Reynolds: An Actor's Life
by
On December 2nd, James Reynolds will drop by "Movie Addict Headquarters" to talk about his impressive acting career. Although amassing an imposing list of movie and television credits, Reynolds is best known for his Emmy-nominated performance as Abe Carver in TV’s “Days of Our Lives.”
Reynolds has logged more hours on TV than any other African-American actor in the U.S. -- averaging over 100 hours of airtime each year for 25 consecutive years. His films include Mr. Majestyk with Charles Bronson, Fun with Dick and Jane co-starring Jane Fonda and George Segal, and The Magic of Lassie. For his work in the theatrical production Buffalo Soldier, Reynolds earned an NAACP Image Award nomination.
Recently named Chairman of the Department of Veterans Affairs 2009 National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans, Reynolds is a former Marine who served as an information service officer after graduating from high school. He was sent to Vietnam and added battlefield reporting to his combat duties. He remains dedicated to supporting our troops and does so by touring with the USO as well as traveling to various countries to meet with them. In 2007, Reynolds was honored by the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Veteran Affairs and Armed Services Committee for his contributions to the U.S. Armed Forces.
