Mini Review: November 14
by
Here's a Mini Review from Cineman Syndicate for the new James Bond movie opening on November 14, 2008:
QUANTUM OF SOLACE. The task of shepherding Daniel Craig through his second outing as James Bond fell to a director not known for action movies. It shows. The fights and chase sequences are often a blur. Forster (Monster's Ball) does somewhat better with the psychological drama as Bond goes rogue to avenge the murder of his Casino Royale love interest Vesper. M (Judi Dench) is sympathetic but concerned, especially when James teams up with an exotic beauty (Olga Kurylenko) also bent on vengeance to take down a friend of Her Majesty's government. Revenge is a dish best served cold. The optimal temperature for a spy thriller is considerably warmer. (PG-13) FAIR ACTION-THRILLER.
Director: Marc Forster
Lead: Daniel Craig
Running Time: 105 minutes
