Is His Number Up?
by
Sometimes prose cannot fully express the way I feel about a movie, which forces me to wax poetic. Unfortunately, dear reader, I Am Number Four happens to be one of those times -- so here goes:
Super powers make him strong.
Despite his gifts, does FOUR belong?
Called John on Earth to hide his name,
this teen is sought like hunted game.
ONE, TWO and THREE have met their fate.
So Number FOUR has the next date.
I’m Number Four fills up the screen
with teenage angst and villains mean.
There are monsters and effects galore
plus hero’s acts by Number FOUR.
But still I fear that many fans
who long for depth will shout their pans.
With blurry scenes and acting less
than perfect here, the film’s a mess.
Why not create a film with style
based on Disney’s TV show Kyle?
Though I sure liked, as did the crowd,
that Beagle dog, who should be proud!
(Released by Touchstone Pictures and rated “PG-13” for intense sequences of violence and action, and for language.)
