Will movie fans give thanks for the cornucopia of cinematic offerings at our multiplexes this November? It certainly seems that something for everyone has been scheduled for release during the upcoming month. My most eagerly awaited November movies are listed below.

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. A guilty pleasure, I know, but I can’t help looking forward to Tim Allen’s third outing as Santa in this fantasy franchise, especially since funnyman Martin Short joins him as holiday rival Jack Frost. (Nov. 3)

A Good Year.  It will be interesting to see if the usually dramatic Russell Crowe can pull off comedy in this November movie directed by Ridley Scott. These two have worked together quite successfully in the past. Remember Gladiator? Both men are tremendously talented, so my inclination is to predict that A Good Year will be a good movie. (Nov. 10)

Stranger than Fiction.  The strange pairing of Emma Thompson and Will Ferrell intrigues me, but mostly because of the film’s bizarre plot: she’s an author and he’s Harold Crick, a character in one of her novels --with the catch being that she’s facing writer’s block about how to kill Harold off in her latest book. Will Harold be able to prevent his demise? (Nov. 10)

Casino Royale. I’m trying to be open-minded about this one. Daniel Craig as James Bond? Arrrgggh! I wanted Clive Owen or Ioan Gruffudd to be the next 007. Still, my curiosity knows no bounds, so I’m interested in finding out if Craig will hit the target as everyone’s favorite secret agent man. (Nov. 17)

Happy Feet. Oh goody!  The inner child in me can hardly wait to see all those cute singing and dancing penguins in this new animated feature. (Nov. 17)  

Bobby. My more mature self anticipates great things from this dramatic film, directed by Emilio Estevez, about people at the Ambassador Hotel on the night Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968. Just take a look at the cast: Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Martin Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Helen Hunt, Laurence Fishburne, Ashton Kutcher, Joshua Jackson, William H. Macy, Harry Belafonte, Sharon Stone, Elijah Wood -- and more. Wow! (Nov. 22)

Deck the Halls. Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick seem perfectly cast as neighbors who go to war with each other over Christmas decorations. Wouldn’t you be angry if your neighbor put up so many lights the house could be seen from outer space? (Nov. 22)

For Your Consideration.  I absolutely love Christopher Guest’s mockumentaries, so I’m rolling out the red carpet for his latest one. Many of Guest’s regulars -- including my favorites Catherine O’Hara, Fred Willard and Parker Posey -- return to poke fun at movie awards season buzz. Hooray for Hollywood! (Nov. 24)
