Finding Dorothy Book Review Poem
by
My poem below about FINDING DOROTHY by Elizabeth Letts is dedicated to JoAnne Pulcino, my dear cousin.
Judy and Dorothy and Maud, Oh My!
Maud’s husband died so long ago.
But now there’s something she must know.
She’s worried about hubby’s book
and how the Oz movie will look.
Her mission is to help make sure
“The Wizard of Oz” will be pure.
So off to MGM she goes.
Will she find villains or heroes?
“Finding Dorothy” follows Maud,
whose efforts we should all applaud.
It also deals with Maud’s past life
as L. Frank Baum’s devoted wife.
Well-written and hard to put down,
the story sometimes made me frown.
An avid Judy Garland fan,
I cringed at acts by one bad man.
How Maud helps Judy be Dorothy
makes this book a winner for me.
“Over the Rainbow” still rings true .
And L. Frank Baum would love it too.
