Top Film Comedians Encore
by Betty Jo Tucker

Poet T.S. Eliot wrote that April is the cruelest month, but for Movie Addict Headquarters it’s the most humorous one. That’s why we are presenting a “Top Film Comedians Encore” show as our On Demand episode from April 14 through April 29. We are dedicating this episode to our dear friend and great entertainer George Bettinger, who passed away last August. Although George was a frequent guest on our show, this is one of his favorites. He joins comedy experts Nancy Lombardo and Steve Mendoza to reveal their choices for the greatest film comedians past and present. In this vintage episode – which listeners can hear at any time -- George has great fun with his voice impressions. The interactions between George as W. C. Fields and Nancy as Mae West are absolutely priceless!

All three guests boast important experience as actors and comics. For example, Bettinger won acclaim with his uncanny impressions; Lombardo appears frequently in "Saturday Night Live" skits; and Mendoza makes people laugh with his amusing take on life.

George always supported Movie Addict Headquarters on his wonderful “Mom & Pop Shop” show on Dream Stream Radio. And I will never forget his delightfully amusing performance in CAKE: A Love Story, the short film based on It Had To Be Us, the romantic memoir my husband and I wrote under the pen names of Harry and Elizabeth Lawrence.

It was always such fun to have George on MAHQ.  But we never knew who he would bring along. In this episode, Groucho Marx and W.C. Fields are two of the funny men who came with George.

Thanks, George Bettinger, for the happiness you’ve given all your friends and fans throughout the world.
