Filmmaker Henry Jaglom On Demand
by
From April 9 through April 15, Movie Addict Headquarters is featuring an ON DEMAND interview with celebrated film auteur Henry Jaglom, who talks about his experience as an independent filmmaker and playwright. Jaglom is best known for movies that put women front and center and include scenes of people engaging in intelligent conversations, both of which buck the Hollywood trend. This vintage episode originally aired on September 29, 2009.

Jaglom’s films include Eating, Irene in Time, Queen of the Lot, Ovation, The M Word, Tracks, Last Summer in the Hamptons, and Just 45 Minutes from Broadway. He has just transferred Train to Zakopané, his long-running play, into a new film that will be released in May, 2018. Tanna Frederick plays one of the lead roles in this intriguing offering set in 1928 Poland right before World War II. Frederick, Jaglom's wife and favorite actress, appears in many Jaglom productions.
Jaglom’s other plays include the award-winning Room 322, A Safe Place -- his debut theatre piece first written for the Actor’s Studio, later made into a film with Jack Nicholson, Tuesday Weld and Orson Welles -- and Always, but Not Forever, his adaptation of his 1985 film of the same name.
