Frankenstein Meets Dracula On Demand
by
From September 25 through October 1, Movie Addict Headquarters is featuring an “On Demand/Best Of” episode from 2012 that brings Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff together in a lively discussion of horror flicks. Joining in the spooky fun are George and Lizette Bettinger from the Mom & Pop Shop radio show. Horror expert Mad Movie Man A.J. Hakari introduces this surreal but fun episode.
Listeners can hear the show at any time during the week by clicking on the BlogTalkRadio link at the end of this article.
Through the magic of imagination and technology, Lugosi and Karloff help listeners get in the mood for Halloween by offering their opinions about the horror genre. Among topics to be covered are: the scariest horror creature on film; the most frightening movie ever made; and the funniest horror film.
Lugosi is best known for his creepy performance as Dracula in the 1931 film of the same name, and Karloff for his scary monster in Frankenstein -- also released in 1931. While working together in eight films, they became friends. In his book about Lugosi and Karloff, author Gregory William Mank calls their relationship “A Haunting Collaboration.” Here are the movies the two actors appeared in with each other: The Black Cat, Son of Frankenstein, The Raven, The Invisible Ray, You’ll Find Out, Gift of Gab, The Body Snatcher, Black Friday.
George (Mr. Show Biz) is a man of many voices, and Lizette adds her impressive voice talent to their popular Mom & Pop Shop radio show, which airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Dream Stream Radio.
