Among Tony's many awards are: an Oscar nomination for The Defiant Ones; two Golden Globes naming him the World’s Favorite Male Actor (1958 & 1961); the 1958 Photoplay Award as Most Popular Male Star; the 1997 Distinguished Hollywood Film Artist Award from the St. Louis International Film Festival; and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Tony displayed his versatility in a wide range of roles including Houdini, the Boston Strangler and Casanova. Because he’s appeared in over 100 films, it’s difficult to pick a favorite Tony Cutis movie. However, his portrayal of Joe/Josephine in Some Like It Hot would surely rank high on almost everyone’s list!

Some Like It Hot was voted #1 on the American Film Institute list of 100 Funniest Movies as well as #14 on its list of the 100 Greatest Movies. The film also received five Oscar nominations (one win for costumes), three Golden Globe Awards, a Grammy nomination, and many other accolades.
