Tippi Hedren On Demand
by Betty Jo Tucker

Movie Addict Headquarters features an interview with Tippi Hedren as the show’s ON DEMAND episode from April 9 through April 15. Tippi talks about her film career in movies like The Birds, Marnie and The Countess of Hong Kong. She also discusses what it was like working with directors Alfred Hitchcock and Charlie Chaplin.  Plus, the legendary actress covers her important work with animal rights activities. Listeners can hear this popular interview at any time by clicking on the link at the end of this article.

With over seventy films and television appearances to her credit, Tippi Hedren is still going strong. This lovely and talented actress, best known for her work in two Alfred Hitchcock thrillers, The Birds and Marnie, currently spends a great deal of her time involved in animal rights activities and other important causes.

Among Hedren’s non-Hitchcock films are such offerings as Citizen Ruth, I Heart Huckabees, Pacific Heights, Break Up, Mulligans, Return to Babylon and Roar, a movie Hedren produced and starred in with her daughter, Melanie Griffith. Hedren’s television credits are roles in CSI, The 4400, Hart to Hart and Murder, She Wrote.

Several charitable and humanitarian causes have benefited from Hedren’s support. According to the Internet Movie Data Base, she served as a volunteer International Relief Coordinator for “Food for the Hungry” and has “traveled worldwide to set up relief programs following earthquakes, hurricanes, famine and war.” Tippi is also an avid supporter of the ROAR Foundation and the Shambala Preserve.

Hedren’s many awards for her acting and humanitarian efforts include: a Golden Globe for The Birds; a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; a Humanitarian Award from the Baha’I Faith; and the “Woman of Vision” Honor from Women in Film and Video.
