Incidental Gold Films
by
The Shadow, The Miracle Worker, He Walked by Night – what do these films have in common? They each made it to a list of 75 movies called “Incidental Gold” by Richard Jack Smith, an impressive film critic who lives in South Wales and contributes reviews to the ReelTalk Movie Reviews website. Richard will discuss some of the motion pictures included in his list and why they were selected during his June 25th interview on Movie Addict HQ. Award-winning critic Mack Bates has agreed to co-host this enlightening episode. Mack writes freelance articles for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and serves as a staff blogger for Milwaukee Magazine’s official film blog.
Richard Jack Smith holds a BA Honours degree in professional media practice. He originally planned on filmmaking as a career until he rediscovered a love for writing and criticism. His extensive film knowledge and unbridled passion for the cinema combine to make each of his insightful, entertaining reviews a joy to read. Fortunately, he never gives away plot details or spoilers that can ruin the movie for potential viewers. Instead, important aspects relating to cinematography, directing, pacing, script, tone, cohesiveness, dialogue, theme, performances -- and more -- come under Richard’s deft scrutiny. Richard does not hold back when he’s disappointed with a movie, which happens frequently. But when he loves a film, his enthusiasm and praise practically jump off the page!
Below are some of the movies Richard plans to talk about on Movie Addict HQ in addition to the three already mentioned.
